MEET CHEF KAL

My name is Kal Peiris, and Sri Lanka is my homeland. Though I’ve lived in the U.S. for over twenty years, my passion for Sri Lankan food has never subsided. In fact, it grew and evolved to the point that I simply couldn’t keep it to myself. I wanted to share it with others and share the delicious food of my homeland.

With its accentuated flavors of curry powder (made with coriander seed, cumin, fennel, chile powder, turmeric, cinnamon, cloves, pepper and cardamom), curry leaves, Rampa leaves, chile powder, peppers, lemongrass, coconut milk and other savory, fragrant spices, my dishes will please your palate and make you come back for more.

Sri Lankan food offers a vivid array of flavor combinations: sweet caramelized onion relishes, bitter melon, scraped coconut, and the burn of curry tamed by mild rice. Sri Lankan cuisine can be made mild, medium, or very spicy. This allows me to serve a wide variety of authentic food lovers!
